THE NEW ALBUM "NEW RECIPE" IS FINALLY HERE |
Well...after much financial juggling, begging, borrowing and everything else except stealing, the CD is finally here.
The Mastering session went great and the Man himself, Bernie Grundman said the mixes were perfect, and this will compete with anything out there! That's from a guy who has worked on everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Michael Jackson and anything else you can think of, for the last 45 years!
Recorded at Gil's Wolf Tracks Studio, the band was recorded basically "live" again and then additional parts added. Once again we've expanded our sound with more group vocals, the return of the Harmonica and even a broader stylistic approach. Shoot, we even got Tamas to be a whole horn section by himself!
Guitar, Sax & Harmonicas creating Horn Lines, Jon, John & Brian singing Background Vocals, Karl & Gil playing percussion. Great soloing from everyone, and of course Jon's great soulful vocals! There's a lot to listen to.
Featuring 4 new originals which have been getting great reviews and responses from audiences and "insiders" alike, this New Recipe is sure to please the palette!

Released in 2007, Hot ‘n Spicy was recorded at Gil Rubio’s White Wolf Productions studio, and features an “expanded” band sound. As per usual, the rhythm section was recorded live to multitrack. However, recording in a personal studio afforded the band time to expand their instrumentation and live band sound with horn sections comprised of layered saxophones or layered sax with guitar or keyboard. Multiple percussion parts and more background vocals also add to the larger band sound. 4 new original songs are included in this 13 song package which takes even bigger muddy steps into New Orleans territory.

Homework, released in 2002, was recorded at a local studio in the Monterey Bay area. Once again the band was recorded basically live to multitrack in one day. Although additional parts were recorded later, the recording retains its intimate and rootsy feel. Featuring 6 new original compositions, the 13 selections here are very much in the Louisiana Blues and R&B tradition.
